Can the council confirm if it has been consulted on the review of the 139 bus service between Naas and Blanchardstown, given that people are seeking improvements to the hours of operation, the frequency and the capacity of the service and possible linkages with the requirements of other public transport users?

"The members considered the following question in the name of Councillor McEvoy.
Can the council confirm if it has been consulted on the review of the 139 bus service between Naas and Blanchardstown, given that people are seeking improvements to the hours of operation, the frequency and the capacity of the service and possible linkages with the requirements of other public transport users?
A report was received from Sustainable Transport and Traffic Management Team informing the members neither the National Transport Authority nor the bus operator has contacted the Sustainable Transport Section in relation to the review being undertaken.
Councillor McEvoy thanked the Sustainable Transport Team for the report and for the answer given. This was a public-spirited campaign to raise awareness in the Community.
He suggested submissions from Councillors be sent to the National Transport Authority.
Mr. D Hodgins informed the members this was a Public Service Obligation (PSO) initiative. He agreed with the decision to make the NTA aware of the public support for this service in the Municipal District.
