Question


Can the council update the committee on efforts to deliver pedestrian and cycling access from the Ballinagappa Road to schools on the Prosperous Road, Clane - with a focus on reducing traffic levels?


Report


The Roads, Transportation and Public Safety Department is examining the possibility of developing a route for students walking to and from the three schools on the Prosperous Road, via the Ballinagappa Road, Clane. Meetings have taken place with school principals and a further meeting is planned. The members will be kept informed of progress.

"Councillor McEvoy stated that this project should be given adequate priority due to the high density of students in the area. Ms Wright acknowledged that progress was slow, and she stated that the Roads Department had assigned resources to this project but needed to assign additional resources. The report was noted."
